How Did I Get into this Anime Shit?

A few weeks ago (I've been procrastinating, I know) I asked my friend, "Why you don't watch anime anymore?". And then he said, "I think it's just a waste of time". Fuck. That was really a pain in the ass. I know he is right. But, honestly, almost everyone wastes time in one way or another. Watching TV, listening to music, playing with Facebook, Instagram, etc. Watching anime isn't that bad, am I right?

Let's get back to the main topic. Recently, I've written a few anime stuff in this blog. And one day, I was thinking to myself, "Hey, how did this happen? How did I get into this shit?". I was confused. That was quite a tough question to answer. I don't even know how to start, but ... if I don't force myself I will be procrastinating again. So, I think I've found a way to write down that answer in a blog post (thanks to my IDM and μtorrent history, I can get the list in order). Here we go!

Childhood Animes

When I was a kid, I didn't really like watching anime. I preferred cartoon from the West like Spongebob, Tom and Jerry, Popeye, etc. However, I still watch some animes like Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Doraemon, Shincan, etc. Of course, I didn't care about the story, character development, or anything like that. I just watched them for the spectacular magical power, the powerful pet-beast, the weird robot-cat, or just the simple jokes.

Strangely, my mom once said that I loved Sailor Moon. But I can't remember anything about that. It must have been a very long time so that I can't remember it anymore. Hmm, I wonder where did all those childhood memories go.

Naruto

I never really liked this one. My parents said that it's just a piece of shit, so I didn't bother watching it, moreover it aired everyday on TV. I know actually it's not that bad. But I still can't comprehend why so many people (in Indonesia) like it. After watching many animes, I  think Naruto doesn't particularly stand out. Maybe it's because the anime was aired everyday!

Kiss x Sis

That perverted anime. Do you know who introduced me to this fucking anime? Yes, it is the same guy who claimed that watching anime is a waste of time. Apparently, this guy also liked to watch High School DxD, too (and even worse, JAV). But one day he said that he have had enough of it. Now I can understand why he stopped watching these stuff altogether.

Bakuman

Before I watched the anime, I've read some of the manga of this series. I borrowed them from my friend. That made a history as the first manga I've ever read. I never expected that the first manga I read is a manga about manga. Anyway, I think the overall story is very good. I don't know how much of the fact presented in it is true, but that was quite entertaining. That ridiculous love story between Mashiro and Miho was very interesting, too.

Bleach

How did I find out about this anime? So, I was playing PlayStation in my friend's house. I don't really like football, so we tried many games (instead of just playing football game for hours). One of the game we played was ... Bleach. Because I liked that game so much, I proceeded with watching some (actually all) of the movie (not the series, though). A fun fact: my friend named his cat Ichigo.

Attack on Titan

I don't really ... oh, I remember! This one is even more twisted. Do you know that I also like DOTA? One day, I was reading a blog from Na'Vi's Dendi. In the blog, there was a highlight video of some funny plays. One of the soundtrack of the video is Guren no Yumiya (the soundtrack of Attack on Titan). Well played.

After I watched the anime, it turns out to be really awesome. 25 episodes and it felt like I was riding a rollercoaster. Ah, the glorious music, the nice graphics, the thrilling story, they all made a great anime. From this point, I think I can say that I've become an anime lover.

That's it. There are still a lot of anime I want to talk about, but I think this is enough.

Thank you for reading!
